Hardouvelis: The negotiation is progressing

“We had a detailed discussion about everything. The negotiation is progressing,” Finance Minister Gikas Hardouvelis said on Monday, immediately after a two-hour meeting with Prime Minister Antonis Samaras.

In statements to reporters waiting outside as he left the meeting, Hardouvelis said that there was no 48-hour ultimatum but that the government “did not yet know” when the EU-IMF troika mission representing Greece’s international lenders will return.

“We will have time to complete the negotiations within the deadline,” Hardouvelis said in response to questions and, replying to another reporter, denied feeling that he’d been “hung out to dry”.
