“If necessary, the government will take any measure that concerns the unvaccinated”, said the Minister of Health, Thanos Plevris, emphasizing that the lockdown for those who have not rushed to the vaccination centers is on the table.
The minister also stressed that within the week the process of commandeering the services of private doctors will take place, stressing that “today, or tomorrow the process of voluntary participation is completed and then we will go with the commandeering of services”.
He pointed out that private doctors who voluntarily come to the battle of the NHS are still signing on.
“During the week, if the gaps are not filled, their services will be requested, however, the Associations have mobilized and every day we have names that want to come to the system voluntarily.”
He reiterated that there is full cooperation with the private sector, as over 700 beds in Northern Greece have been allocated to the NSS, while all non-Covid ICU beds are under the management of EKAB.
The minister stressed that the commandeering will first take place in Thessaly and Northern Greece and will be extended where necessary.
