Health Ministry to give more freedom of movement to vaccinated people

Following the recommendation of the committee of infectious diseases on Wednesday, the health ministry is expected to finalize the measures that give greater freedom of movement to the vaccinated, especially indoors, and to announce these measures at 15:00.

According to sources, the new measures will be oriented towards an open society that aims to help vaccinated people return to normalcy and protect the unvaccinated, but without imposing additional restrictions on them.

Health Minister Thanos Plevris in an interview with Open TV earlier on Wednesday clarified that the measures for the unvaccinated will not become more restrictive. He explained that there can no longer be horizontal measures per region, implying that there will be more freedoms, even in the “red areas”. As he said, there are no thoughts for restrictive measures, such as those implemented last year.

According to sources the philosophy of the new measures is oriented towards an open society that aims to help vaccinated people return to normalcy and protect the unvaccinated, but without imposing additional restrictions on them.

Characteristic of this direction are what the Minister of Health, Thanos Plevris, said – speaking this morning on open television – who clarified that the measures for the unvaccinated will not be made more restrictive. He clarified that there can no longer be horizontal measures per region, implying that there will be more freedoms, even in the “red areas”. As he said, there are no thoughts for restrictive measures, such as those implemented last year, implying that measures such as banning travel from law to law have no place at this time.

However, the political leadership of the Ministry of Health points out in every tone that everything depends on the epidemiological course of the pandemic in our country, which although different from last year – as there are more weapons in the quiver of experts, with its dominant Vaccination – is closely monitored by scientists in order to have the appropriate interventions at the right time.

At this stage, indoor entertainment venues continue to be restricted for those who have not been vaccinated, at the same time giving extra freedoms to indoor entertainment venues for vaccinated people and will reportedly allow them to experience moments of fun as before the pandemic.

“Since we now have a vaccine, at least in the context that it has to do with activities of only vaccinated, it should be as close as possible to normal,” said yesterday on real fm radio the Minister of Health Thanos Plevris, who constantly repeats that the measures are not punitive for the unvaccinated and considers that they will be an incentive, especially at the younger ages 18-30 who want to go out, relive their lives, to see that the vaccine is the only, the basic alternative which we have, as characteristically stated.

“The government does not want to restrict any activity, as long as it is done safely,” the health minister said this morning, referring to the parades, explaining that similar events are the gathering of many people in a stadium or in a demonstration.
