Hellenic Financial Stability Fund still undecided on whether to call an EGM on NBG chairman

The general council of the Hellenic Financial Stability Fund (HFSF) said on Monday it will continue to discuss whether to call an extraordinary general meeting (EGM) of the National Bank of Greece (NBG), on the issue of the bank’s new president Panayotis Thomopoulos.

Last week, the bank’s board selected Thomopoulos as its new chairman, a choice that was rejected by the representative of Greece’s bank rescue fund, NBG’s largest shareholder following its last recapitalization.
