Hospital employees’ union to rally outside PM’s office on Wednesday

The Panhellenic Federation of Public Hospital Employees (POEDIN) is planning a rally outside Maximos Mansion on Wednesday at 09:00 to protest the “crumbling” public healthcare system.

The union cited data from the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) which said that Greece’s public spending in health amounts to 5 percent of GDP, while in the United Kingdom, whose government is criticized for underfunding the NHS, spends 7.7 percent of GDP, France spends 8.6 percent and Germany spends 9.4 percent.
