How vaccination appointments will be booked, explains Pierrakakis

Digital Governance Minister Kyriakos Pierrakakis provided some initial information about getting inoculated with the upcoming coronavirus vaccine, speaking on MEGA TV on Saturday.

The online platform will be at the center of the government’s information campaign, as will the paperless electronic prescription system, he said.

Authorities will automatically book the first two vaccination appointments for citizens -as the vaccine is administered in two doses- the dates of which can then be changed, and the location of the vaccination center can be modified, if a person resides at a different address to what is stored in state systems. All this will be performed online, but alternative methods will be set up for anyone who has no access to the internet or does not possess any digital skills.

A call-center will be set up for the purposes of booking or modifying appointments, said the minister, but dedicated physical spaces will also be available for vaccination bookings and other related procedures.

The governmental public information campaign on vaccinations will be launched “immediately,” noted Pierrakakis.
