IMF hints at compromise with SSM on issue of Greek bank stress tests

The International Monetary Fund (IMF) expects the issue of whether Greek banks will need a new asset quality review (AQR) will be resolved soon, its spokesman said on Wednesday, responding to a question posed by CNN Greece.

Asked whether the Fund is satisfied with the intention of Single Supervisory Mechanism (SSM) to speed up the stress tests next year or if it insists on a new asset quality review of Greek lenders, he said: “We expect this issue to be resolved satisfactorily, soon.”
