Lagarde and French FinMin discuss June 15 Eurogroup

France’s Finance Minister Bruno Le Maire on Thursday had a meeting with International Monetary Fund (IMF) chief Christine Lagarde focusing on international economic affairs and the upcoming Eurogroup meeting on June 15 – where the issue of debt relief for Greece is expected to dominate.

“I had the great pleasure of meeting Christine Lagarde once again this afternoon and exchanging views on the international economic situation, the European Union and the Eurogroup on June 15,” Le Maire commented in a tweet after the meeting.

Thursday’s working lunch with Lagarde, who will be attending the June 15 Eurogroup, concludes a round of meetings held by Le Maire in preparation for the Eurozone finance ministers’ meeting.
The ultimate aim, as he said, was to “find a solution” on the issue of Greece.
