IMF’s Lagarde arrives for Eurogroup on Greece, expresses hope for ‘good solution’

International Monetary Fund (IMF) chief Christine Lagarde, arriving for a Eurozone finance ministers’ meeting here on Thursday, expressed hope that “a good solution” for Greece will be found by the end of the Eurogroup.

All sides had worked hard in the period leading up to the meeting and the IMF had tried to be as constructive as possible while respecting its rules, she added.

“We will continue to work to bridge the differences and I hope that we will arrive at a good solution by the end of the session,” Lagarde said, while adding that she was “always optimistic” in response to questions.
