Insurance premium production down 2.5 pct in April

Insurance premium production fell 2.5 pct in April this year, compared with the same month in 2016, Hellenic Association of Insurance Companies said in a report released on Thursday.

The report said that premium production grew 0.4 pct in the January-April period compared with the corresponding period in 2016. Life insurance production fell 0.6 pct in April, falling for the second successive month, while damage contract production fell 4.2 pct in the month.

In the four-month period, life premium production fell 6.9 pct compared with 2016, while life insurance contracts linked with investments grew 50.9 pct. Damage contract production fell 1.5 pct in the January-April period
