The pandemic cannot be properly managed when the political parties are bickering but requires a plan and unity, as happened during its first phase in the spring, Interior Minister Takis Theodorikakos said on Tuesday in an interview Thema 104.6, while appealing to “everyone to show seriousness and responsibility.”
“The existing problems are being addressed with a plan and with the contribution of everyone”, he added.
Referring to the opposition parties, he noted that “they must face the truth and reality,” and should not mount their opposition “on the terms used 30 and 40 years ago.”
Regarding the stance of main opposition SYRIZA-Progressive Alliance, in particular, he said that “it is wrong for the opposition to think that it scores points politically by opposing the government in everything regarding the management of the pandemic. Here, the aim is to [protect] human lives, to not have great losses.”
