Interior Minister Skourletis: The Greek programme can proceed without the IMF

The Greek programme can proceed without IMF’s participation, stated Interior Minister Panos Skourletis on Monday adding that a political interlocutor is better than an inflexible technocrat that wants to implement recipes that did not have positive results in most of the countries they were applied.

Asked if the Fund was Greece’s ally in the debt issue, Skourletis said «I don’t know if it was really our ally. If it was our real ally it wouldn’t ask for measures that make the payment difficult. There is a contradiction here that leads us to the conclusion that we do not know what the IMF really wants”.
