Flights were cancelled at the Thessaloniki International Airport “Macedonia” on Thursday due to low cloud coverage, part of the severe cold front “Sophia” bearing down on Greece today and Friday.
Fraport Greece spokesperson Yiannis Papazoglou told the Athens-Macedonian News Agency that four flights landed in Kavala and one in Athens, while another two were cancelled. Specifically, the flights to Thessaloniki from Hamburg, Athens, Dusseldorf and Berlin had to be diverted to Kavala.
The Stockholm-Thessaloniki flight was diverted to Athens.
The two cancelled flights were from Doha and Baden.
