A new innovative business incubator program, Invent ICT, was officially presented at the EPI.noo hub’s premises in Athens on Thursday.
The programe aims to support the development of new enterprises of knowledge intensity exploiting IT and communication technologies and to contribute in the development of the Greek economy and stoping a brain drain trend which negatively affects the country’s economic recovery prospects.
Vasilis Manglaras, secretary-general for Telecommunications and Post in the Digital Policy, Telecoms and Media ministry, addressing the event said that an existing national digital policy aims to exploit the exceptional work made by Greek universities and the dynamic and extrovert sector of IT and communications sector in the country.
“What we see today is the result of an essential joining of forces between the public sector, academics and the private sector with the aim to support innovation and job creation with a multiple result for the Greek economy and
society,” Manglaras said.
The Invent ICT programe is implemented by the Metsovio Polytechnic School and the Industry Disruptors – Game Changers (ID-GC) with the support of the Union of Mobile Telephony Companies.
