Investigation into bank employees stealing from safe deposit boxes reopens

Five former bank employees suspected of stealing 2.7 million euros of valuables from safe deposit boxes will be called to testify in front of an investigating corrruptions magistrate in Thessaloniki by the end of the month.

The investigation against the employees, who have all since retired, is being reopened after being shelved due to the lack of evidence. A public appeals prosecutor, however, has decided that there is enough evidence to call the suspects to trial and the investigation is being reopened.
