An investment by Dimand Real Estate in the former buildings of Papastratos in the region of Aghios Dionysios at the port of Piraeus, worth 100 million euros, was discussed during a meeting of the Piraeus Chamber of Commerce and Industry (EBEP).
Dimitris Andriopoulos, chairman and CEO of Dimand, said that the company was rapidly promoting its investment program, envisaging the reconstruction of three building blocks in Aghios Dionysios area, which used to house Papastratos warehouses, an old tobacco factory and printing facilities.
The project envisages the building of offices and underground parking slots, one hotel unit, a small conference
hall, furnished houses, parkings and a museum of Papastratos. “Our aim is to attract in Piraeus high technology and shipping companies needing modern operating spaces,” Andriopoulos said and urged members of the Chamber to submit a joint proposal for the business development of the region.
Vasilis Korkidis, president of EBEP, said that after eight years of economic recession and dissinvestment, “we welcome development initiatives contributing in the creation of a modern business environment in Piraeus”. He added that the city was linked with shipping and entrepreneurship and that the Chamber in cooperation with the municipality are promoting a growth strategy.
