Business expectations in the industrial sector improved slightly in April, the Foundation for Economic and Industrial Research (IOBE) said in a report released on Tuesday.
IOBE, in the report, said this development was in line with a recovery of economic climate in Greece, as reflected by an increase in almost all business sectors of the economy and in consumer confidence. The trend prevailing in the last few months is consistent with the growth rate of the economy, which is gradually recovering, following a strong economic growth internationally. The report said that the development of business expectations in the industrial sector and other economic sectors in the next few months will depend on the funding terms and a new cooperation relationship with the country’s partners and creditors after the end of the current bailout programme. IOBE said that April’s improved figures could be partly attributed to seasonal factors and the start of the tourist season.
The index of business expectations in the industrial sector was 103.4 points in April, up from 102.6 points in March and 98.4 points in April 2017.
