Kammenos says 2018 budget heralds return to normalcy after seven years

The 2018 budget submitted by the government is the first one that heralds a return to normalcy, Defence Minister and leader of junior government coalition partner ANEL, Panos Kammenos, told lawmakers on Tuesday, during the last day of a debate on the state budget.

“After two years of a hard effort, mainly of the people, a budget is submitted in the way it should be done in a developed country, and which is not characterized by the abnormalities of the past,” he said.

Kammenos noted that this budget will lead to the end of the bailout programs and an end to negotiations for the next loan installment. “There will never be a negotiation for the installment again, depending on the measures demanded by our lenders,” he said.
