KazTag: Kazakhstan and Athens agreed to share archive documents about history of Greek people deportation to Kazakhstan

lexey Volkov, ambassador of Kazakhstan to Athens, met Yannis Amanatidis, deputy foreign minister of Greece for cultural-humanitarian and religious issues, the parties discussed bilateral interaction in the field of culture, education and religion, reports the Foreign Ministry of Kazakhstan.

“The ambassador told Ya. Amanatidis about the history of Kazakhstani Greeks deported to Kazakhstan in Stalin’s time, about their return to the historic land in 1990th and about those people who remained in Kazakhstan,” the message reports.

“The Greek diplomat has encouraged the proposal to initiate bilateral cooperation in archive field, to share digital copies of archive materials and the archives, the parties agreed to sign an appropriate agreement which will uncover the documents about the history of Greek people deportation in Kazakhstan,” the message reports.
