Foreign Minister Nikos Kotzias spoke on the phone with the UN Special Adviser on Cyprus Espen Barth Eide on Tuesday to discuss the conditions and the preparation for the second Geneva Summit, as well as a new meeting, the foreign ministry said in a press release.
Kotzias also spoke with Iranian counterpart Javad Zarif on the latest developments in the Middle East, following the diplomatic and economic blockade imposed on Qatar by six of its neighbours, who accuse it of funding extremists in the Gulf region.
The same issue was discussed during a meeting in his office with Qatari representatives.
The foreign minister also met with U.S. Ambassador to Greece Geoffrey Pyatt with whom he discussed Greek-American relations ahead of the ambassador’s trip to the United States.
