Kotzias says everyone accepts that resolving guarantees, security in Cyprus talks is fundamental

Foreign Minister Nikos Kotzias said Greece is fighting to open talks on the issues of security and guarantees at the Cyprus Conference which started on Wednesday in Crans-Montana, Switzerland, adding that “a great step” has been made.

“We’re fighting systematically to solve the Cyprus problem,” he said. “We’re fighting to open the road for talks on the important issues of security and guarantees and to open the road so that we can change this outdated system of guarantees […] We believe that a great step has been made, that everyone admits an accepts that the issue of guarantees and Cyprus’ security is a fundamental issue of the Cyprus problem,” he added.
