Light earthquake shakes Patras and the towns of Nafpaktos and Messolonghi

A light earthquake measuring 4.1 on the Richter scale shook the port city of Patras and the towns of Nafpaktos and Messolonghi in western Greece at 14:45 on Tuesday.

According to the Athens Observatory Geodynamic Institute, the epicentre of the quake was in the sea between Rio and Antirrio. The Euro-Med Seismological Centre (EMSC) said the quake had a magnitude of 4.5 on the Richter scale and its epicentre was eight kilometres northwest of Rio.
