Authorities identified a 92-year-old man on Friday as the hit-and-run driver who injured a child refugee on Monday on the eastern Aegean island of Chios.

The child was hit near the hotspot area of Halkios, police said, and was hospitalized with minor injuries.

The driver was set free by the police pending trial, as hit-and-run drivers are charged with a misdemeanor.
