Medical suppliers call on hospitals to settle growing debts

Greece’s Association of Health Research and Biotechnology Research (SEIV) called on the country’s hospitals to settle growing debts with medical suppliers.

SEIV said state owned Evangelismos hospital, one of the biggest hospitals in Athens, owes suppliers 25 million euros.

“The problem has taken on a massive proportion, with unmanageable consequences for suppliers, since the total amount of debts …is in excess of 25 million euros,” said SEIV in a statement.
