Every vote on Sunday is crucial and must be useful, New Democracy leader Vangelis Meimarakis said on Friday during a speech at an event organized by the party’s secretariat for women’s issues. “The vote on Sunday is crucial and must be useful,” Meimarakis said and stressed the importance of not wasting votes.
“I don’t understand how democratic Greeks with logic can waste their vote on Nazi groups and groups which we don’t know how they’ll cooperate. No woman is allowed to underestimate the importance of her vote and let it be washed away by the river or [ANEL leader Panos] Kammenos’ train,” he said.
He continued to argue that only ND can safeguard stability in the country and criticised SYRIZA leader Alexis Tsipras of having the nerve to ask for a second term after the “destructive” seven months in power.
“The country wants a governor and not an escapee who calls elections of a referendum every time he’s in a difficult position,” he noted.
