Menidi residents protest against rampant crime in their neighbourhood

About 500 residents from Menidi, an area in eastern Attica, held a rally outside the Citizen Protection ministry in Athens on Tuesday night, to protest against crime and drug trafficking in their neighbourhood.

Protesters, who came to the city center with busses, shouted slogans such as “Get smack out of Menidi” and held a large banner that read “We demand an immediate solution to the problem. No more patience.”
The march follows the death of an 11-year-old boy from a stray bullet during an open-air party for schoolchildren on Thursday night.
