The ministry of migration sought to respond to press reports on Monday that Minister Yannis Mouzalas said he would resign during a meeting of the SYRIZA’s political secretariat on Monday, after party members allegedly criticized him on his handling of migration.
“As part of SYRIZA’s intra-party democratic operation, different views were presented,” the ministry said in a press release.
“Before the meeting completed, the minister left to participate in a scheduled meeting with the Vice President of the European Commission Frans Timmermans” it added.
