Minor changes to electricity rates a possibility in 2018, sources say

Electricity rates could show minor changes relating to the transmission and distribution of electric power in 2018, accordng to Regulatory Authority for Energy (RAE) sources.

ADMIE (Greece’s Independent Power Transmission Operator) has recommended radical changes in the method for calculating charges for the transmission system, the sources told ANA on Sunday, such as abolishing current charges and replacing them with incentives/counterincentives that aim to reduce electricity consumption at peak hours.

The regulatory authority is expected to issue a final decision in the next few days regarding the power transmission and distribution grid service charges collected by ADMIE and Hellenic Electricity Distribution Network Operator S.A in 2018, though these are expected to have a limited impact on the final bills for consumers.
