Missing amateur fisherman’s car found in Evros region, search for body continues

A car belonging to a man who went missing in Alexandroupoli on December 19 was found on Thursday in a canal at the Delta of Evros River in northern Greece, authorities told the Athens Macedonian News Agency (ANA) on Thursday, with no traces of a body.

The amateur fisherman had been reported missing by his wife.

Authorities told ANA they had pulled out the car and would begin a search for the 49-year-old’s body on Friday, using a frogman and specially trained dogs. Searches so far have been hindered by the raised water levels and the lay of the land.
