Mitsotakis and Ursula von der Lyen discussed the developments in Afghanistan

The Greek Prime Minister, Kyriakos Mitsotakis, discussed in a call with the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, the latest developments in Afghanistan. The Greek Prime Minister and the President of the European Commission exchanged views in view of today’s urgent teleconference of the G7 leaders on the issue.

Moreover, on the occasion of the forthcoming annual speech of the President of the European Commission on the situation of the European Union and the Summit of the nine Mediterranean states of the EU (MED9EU), in September, in Crete, Kyriakos Mitsotakis stressed the need for the Mediterranean countries to take initiatives for the climate crisis, with an emphasis on forest fires.
