New Democracy Kyriakos Mitsotakis said on Wednesday he does not intend to “repeat mistakes of the past” at the 82nd Thessaloniki International Fair (TIF) by presenting a program full of pledges he will not be able to implement.
“Ahead of TIF, I do not intent to repeat the mistakes of the past, to pledge a mixture of uncosted and maximalist proposals just to be likable and pleasant to the national audience” he said during a meeting with members of the Economic and Social Council of Greece (ESCG).
Mitsotakis said what Greeks are demanding today is concrete proposals, which may sometimes involve some difficult choices. “This is what we will do at TIF, this is what we will do in the future, as we will unfold in more detail our program.”
He said he has already met with representatives of social partners, employers and employees, as well as members of civil society to hear their views and problems “so that we can combine ideas and views”.
