Continuing his tour of Thessaly and the mountainous countryside around Trikala on Sunday, main opposition New Democracy leader Kyriakos Mitsotakis said his party will win the next elections and has a plan for getting the country out of the crisis.
“We don’t dwell on our large lead in the opinion polls. This just increases our responsibilities. I have no doubt that the majority of the people will embrace our proposal. We will win the elections, whenever they take place,” he said in Pyli, Trikala.
Mitsotakis then met with members of the Sarakatsani community meeting in the village of Pertouli, who presented him with a shepherd’s crook.
Addressing the Sarakatsani gathering, Mitsotakis said that Greece’s biggest problem was the emigration of young people abroad and that his first priority would be an investment programme that would give them incentives to return.
