More than 1,100 houses in western Greece damaged by December’s flash floods

Authorities in western Greece said 1,115 houses in Aetolia-Acarnania, a western regional unit, were damaged by last December’s heavy rains that caused flash floods and landslides in the area.

The municipalities mostly hit were Messolonghi, Agrinio and Amphilohia. The regional prefecture said the next step is for the infrastructure ministry to issue a decision to approve the payment of compensations.
