Municipality of Patras plans protest rally against unemployment on Rio-Antirrio bridge

The municipality of Patras is holding a protest rally against unemployment on Sunday (June 25), to demand measures to protect the unemployed and their families, on the Rio-Antirrio Bridge, in the northern Peloponnese, at 11:00.

Patras mayor Kostas Peletidis told the Athens-Macedonian News Agency the action planned wants to promote “work for all, jobs with rights and measures to protect the unemployed,” adding that the issue concerns families, professionals and farmers.

“Unemployment is the number one problem that affects the young, as 50 percent is without a job,” he said.

It is not clear whether protesters are planning to block traffic on the bridge as part of their action, but it is expected that there will be some problems for cars using the bridge.
