Municipality of Perama condemns Golden Dawn’s verbal attacks against teachers in school

The municipality of Perama denounced on Wednesday the scuffles that broke put when Golden Dawn members led by MP Yiannis Lagos attempted to disrupt a parents’ meeting in the local school which was discussing the admission of 25 children refugees next month and jeered teachers and the mayor.

“We condemn and denounce Golden Dawn’s bullying led by indicted MP Yiannis Lagos at the primary school in Ikonio, during a meeting on admitting 25 children refugees in February,” the municipality said.

Golden Dawn circulated fake rumours that children refugees might spread diseases causing anxiety to some of the parents, despite the fact that children refugees have been vaccinated multiple times and are under medical supervision, it added.

“Jeering, threats and bullying […] will not be tolerated in our town,” the municipality said.
