N. Kotzias: Turkey must meet the commitments it has undertaken towards the EU

Turkey must meet the commitments it has undertaken towards the EU by respecting European law and European procedures, Greek Foreign Minister Nikos Kotzias said on Monday, during the EU-Turkey intergovernmental conference here, which opened negotiations on chapter 17 in the neighbouring country’s recently restarted accession talks.
Chapter 17 is one of the 35 Turkey must complete to join the bloc.

In his address, Kotzias said that during the working lunch of the EU’s 28 foreign ministers with the Turkish delegation, the two sides discussed European and Turkish views on Iraq, Syria and other developments in the Middle East.
