National Theatre cancels performances due to strikes on December 8

The National Theatre of Greece announced the cancellation of planned performances on Thursday, December 8, due to planned strikes by the General Confederation of Employees of Greece (GSEE) and the civil servants’ union federation ADEDY.

The cancelled performances include a production of Shakespeare’s “Twelfth Night” on the Central Stage, “Stella Koimisou” directed by Yiannis Economidis’ on the “Nikos Kourkoulos” stage, Oscar Wilde’s “Happy Prince” on the Children’s Stage, “Pedio Volis (Firing Range)” on the Experimental Stage and Constantinos Rigas’ “Anemos (Wind)” at the Rex Theatre-Marika Kotopouli Stage.

People who have tickets for “Stella Koimisou” on that night can only come to watch the play on Tuesday, December 6 because all other nights are already sold out. Those with tickets for performances on December 8 are asked to visit the National Theatre’s box office within 10 days to swap their tickets or get a refund, or else contact the phone line 210 7234567.

The box office is open on Tuesday from 9:00-17:00 and from Wednesday until Sunday from 9:30 until 21:00.
