ND: 2016 GDP data prove government brought two more years of recession

The main opposition accused the government on Tuesday for pushing Greece back into recession since it took office in 2015, following data published by the country’s statistics agency which showed that the economy shrank 0.2 percent in 2016.

“They took over from the Samaras government a growing economy, and led households and businesses to more debt. While all Eurozone countries are growing rapidly, Greece is lagging behind, with ‘prime minister of taxes’ Alexis Tsipras being solely responsible,” the party said.
