ND spox Spyraki accuses PM of not ‘making the most’ of his US visit

Main opposition New Democracy (ND) spokesperson Maria Spyraki on Friday accused Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras of not fully exploiting the potential opportunities to extract benefits for Greece during his trip to the US.

ND leader Kyriakos Mitsotakis, she said, had stressed the importance of the prime minister’s visit to the US and had called on him to take advantage of the current positive circumstances.

However, she added, Tsipras had only come away with an ambiguous agreement for the essential upgrade of Greece’s F-16 fighter planes.

“There was no tangible result on national issues and investments. Only wishes. As a result of Tsipras’ lack of planning, an important chance for our country has been lost,” Spyraki stated.
