The New Year will bring a change in Greece’s history, New Democracy leader Kyriakos Mitsotakis said on Monday, and a step towards hope.
In his New Year’s message, the main opposition leader said that many Greeks saw the quality of their life take a turn for the worse. Several lost their lives from the country’s incompetence, he said, while heavy taxation continues to place a strangehold on most, while lawlessness fills Greeks with insecurity. “All this must be put behind us,” he said, noting that moving forward should include thinking of the weakest members of society.
“The country does not need more divisions or more polarisation,” Mitsotakis said. “It needs unity, solidarity and plans for the future.”
