ND’s shadow FM G. Koumoutsakos on Eurogroup deal: ‘Too little, too late’

The agreement on Greece achieved at the Eurogroup last Thursday offered “too little, too late,” New Democracy’s shadow foreign minister Giorgos Koumoutsakos said on Sunday in an interview with “Eleftheros Typos”.

Listing the problems of the deal, Koumoutsakos said the loan installment given to Greece was much smaller than what the country could have claimed, any hopes for inclusion in the European Central Bank’s quantitative easing program “became a pipe dream”, Greek debt turned into a “fuzzy phrase word” and the primary surpluses became a “burdensome obligation” until 2060.

On that note, he reiterated the party’s position for the need for a “political change”, adding the agreement will not pull Greece out of its stagnation.
