Nearly half of Wednesday’s auctions end up with sale, notary assn says

Of 268 foreclosure electronic auctions posted up to Wednesday, 130 were completed with a sale, 92 were unproductive, 45 were suspended and 1 was cancelled, the Notary Association of Athens, Piraeus, the Aegean and Dodecanese said on Thursday.

The 45 that were suspended will be reposted in the future, while the single cancelled auction followed a settlement between owners and creditors. Of the rest, the 130 properties were sold to the highest bidder and the 92 attracted no buyer, the association said.

In its statement, the association added that owners and buyers “are provided full and timely information, while the e-platform (for auctions) is open to the public.”
