New court fees, including duty for postponing hearings, from Monday

New court fees will be introduced in Greece from Monday, with the gradual implementation of the electronic “stamp duty” for court costs and fees introduced by the General Secretary for IT systems.

Among the new fees will be a new duty ranging from 20 euros to 50 euros that will be imposed when lawyers ask for hearings on their cases to be postponed for any reason. These will depend on the level of the court, except in cases where the lawyers are on strike.

Some fees, such as that for filing a lawsuit, will be reduced.
