New Democracy leader visits EKAB after emergency party meeting

Main opposition New Democracy leader Kyriakos Mitsotakis held an emergency meeting Wednesday on the deadly Attica fires at the party’s headquarters.

Party sources said the meeting would seek to determine and assess the reasons that led to the loss of so many lives and examine proposals for the measures to aid fire victims, as well as the situation created in the aftermath of the fires and ND’s proposals for preventing and handling natural disasters.

Later on Wednesday, Mitsotakis visited Greece’s ambulance service (EKAB), where he spoke with workers about the difficulties of the operation during the fires. The party president congratulated the staff on their work and thanked them for their contribution to helping fight the crisis.
