Open House is one of the most important international initiatives for promoting architecture, strengthening local society and offering a different perspective of the cities.
Open House Thessaloniki is in its fifth year.
This year, Open House Thessaloniki will be held on November 19-20. The weekend promises to tour visitors to buildings they never had the chance to see from the inside. Neoclassical mansions of the 19th century, contemporary office buildings and innovative private home. However, there’s also the city’s museums and its dozens of monuments, from Gallerius’ Palace to the Ancient Agora and the White Tower.
Open House is one of the most important international institutions seeking to promote architecture. The idea started in London, in 1992, and to this day has spread to more than 35 cities around the world, with regular visitors and supporters.
The initiative invites the general public to explore and understand the value of architecture and the constructed environment. Every year, architecturally interesting private and public buildings open their doors to the public for two days free of charge. The city is transformed into an open museum with its buildings and architecture on exhibition.
