Osmani: Greece, FYROM must remain calm and focused on resolution to name issue

Sunday’s rally in Athens on the “Macedonia” name issue is part of political dialogue and an established democratic right, but should not affect the negotiation process towards a solution, FYROM Deputy Prime Minister for European Affairs Bujar Osmani said on Monday.

In comments in Skopje, Osmani added that one must also not underestimate the great number of people supporting a resolution and opposing such expressions of protest. FYROM never considered the name issue easy to resolve, he said, but what is important is that Greece and FYROM both have governments determined to find a solution. They must remain calm and focused on resolving the issue, regardless of the challenges along the way, he noted.
