Over 150 French tourism agents and journalists to descend on Crete for Easter

Over 150 tourism agents and journalists from France will visit Crete to learn more about customs and traditions of Cretans during the Greek Orthodox Easter, general manager of Heliades in Greece Jean Brajon said on Tuesday.

Heliades is the largest travel agency in France that offers trips to Crete, and has done so since 1975. Brajon made his statements at a meeting with Crete regional governor Stavros Arnaoutakis.

Clients of Heliades have expressed interest in culture and nature on Crete, especially for more traditional aspects of the southern island. The agency is offering specialized tours including a glimpse into local customs and visits to archaeological sites.

Some of the island’s alternative offerings were presented recently at the F.RE.E. (Leisure and Travel Fair) in Munich, with tours and packages related to stays at farms, cycling, diving, and sea sports.
