Palaio Faliro coasts cleaning completed; beaches delivered to public

Greek authorities will on Tuesday deliver the first few beaches on the Saronic Gulf, which were polluted by the sinking of the oil tanker “Agia Zoni II”, for use by the public. These are on the coast in the municipality of Palaio Faliro, where cleaning to remove spilled oil has been completed.

The second part of the Piraiki area will be delivered on Thursday, after all the required shore cleaning operations have been completed.

The situation in Salamina has also improved, according to the coordinating body.
