Papadimoulis: Trump’s statements reflect the fact Greece’s economy has improved

The benefit of the Greek Prime Minister’s meeting with the US president is that Trump’s statements lend support to Greece’s assertion that its economy has improved, European Parliament Vice-President Dimitris Papadimoulis said on Wednesday in an interview with the Athens-Macedonian News Agency’s radio station Praktoreio 104.9 FM.

“After a period of silence for many months, Trump has adopted the positions of the Obama government on the Greek debt relief,” he said, adding that Greece is an ideal region with many investment opportunities.

“I think they also moved forwards in a discussion on energy issues, as Greece is evolving into an (energy) hub,” Papadimoulis noted.
