Parliament’s finance committee started on Wednesday a debate on Greece’s 2018 draft budget, with the rapporteurs from each party presenting their arguments.
“It is a difficult budget. It will be the last budget which places obstacles in the development of national policy. We will be the government that will take the country out of economic suffocation,” SYRIZA rapporteur Dimitris Vettas he told lawmakers.
Vettas noted the improvement of the economic climate from the achievement of a primary surplus for the first time since relevant data started being collected in 1995.”The positive climate, which will seal 2017, is expected to be transferred to 2018,” he said.
The committee debate will conclude in three sessions.
